1. What must we do when we want our child dismissed early?

Early dismissals require a note to the teacher. Times for dismissals are 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. only.

2.  Are there fundraisers we must participate in as part of our tuition plan?

Yes, there are 2 required fundraisers:

a. The Christmas Sale: BY CONTRACT YOU MUST SELL $150 WORTH OF ITEMS PER CHILD OR YOU WILL BE ASSESSED $125 PER CHILD IN YOUR JANUARY TUITION.

b. The Candy Sale: BY CONTRACT YOU MUST SELL DESIGNATED AMOUNT OR PAY $100 PER CHILD BEFORE THE SELL BEGINS.

3. Is there morning care?

No. St. Michael serves breakfast from 7:50-8:10 a.m. daily. Children remain in the school yard before and after those times.

4.  How is WORK MADE UP if my child is absent?

Teachers will prepare work for an absent child only if the child presents the required note for absence. If a child is absent two or more days a parent may request that work be prepared for pick-up.

5.  Does St. Michael's have field trips?

Yes. Individual teachers sponsor trips - which are privileges - not rights. Students who are deserving and present the proper permission slip are allowed to attend trips.

6.  Is homework required?

Yes. Written homework in Language Arts and Math are required nightly. However, it is probable that students will receive more subject areas. Please consult your parent handbook for the amount of time each grade level should spend on written assignments. Study is expected nightly.

7.  What happens if we do not pick-up our child on time when school is dismissed at 12:30 p.m.?

We provide parents with numerous notices for 12:30 dismissals. Unfortunately, failure to pick-up a child on time causes a difficulty to our staff since we usually have meetings on those days. Therefore, a financial penalty is imposed. Call the office for exact amount per 15 minute interval.

8. Are we able to give phone messages to children?

Phone messages are dangerous. We require all notices to be sent in writing to the office.

9.  When is lunch money collected?

Lunch money is collected on Thursday mornings only. Please send in the exact amount and do not put sibling payments in one envelope.
